Storms rolling through the Valley Thursday caused power outages for thousands of customers

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Storms rolling through the Valley Thursday caused power outages for thousands of customers Thursday night.

Thousands were without power across Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana and Mercer and Lawrence counties.

There were still some without power into Friday morning. According to First Energy, most should have power back on by Friday afternoon.

Wind damage was reported at the old Valley View in Brookfield and a tree came down on Todd Avenue in Warren.

A roof of a home was also damaged in a Brookfield neighborhood.

Damage reports are coming in from all around the viewing area.

A viewer also sent in video of a heavy downpour on Cherry Fork Avenue on the East Side of Leetonia.

The Ohio Department of Transportation has closed State Route 616 at U.S. 422 due to downed power lines. Drivers should find another route.
