YSU Women’s Basketball handles Pitt; Penguins improve to 3-0

Youngstown State topped Pittsburgh 64-55 Tuesday night in women’s college basketball action at the Petersen Events Center. 

It is the Penguins’ first win over a Power-Five Conference team since YSU defeated Pitt back in 2012.

Alison Smolisnki led the Penguins with a team-high 20 points. Chelsea Olson added 14 points in the victory. McKenah Peters and Mary Dunn tallied 9 points apiece.

Aysia Bugg led the Panthers with 20 points in the setback. Pittsburgh drops to 1-2 on the season.

YSU improves to 3-0 on the campaign. The Penguins return to action on Friday at home against Carlow at 7PM.
