Wilmington softball scores late; 1 win shy of a District title

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pennsylvania (WKBN) – Wilmington broke a scoreless tie in the 6th with a pair of runs to help the ‘Hounds past Mercer – 3-0. Sophomore Remington Koi improves her pitching mark to 5-0 with her complete game shutout victory. Wilmington will now face either Union City or Saegertown in Monday’s District 10 Class 2A Final. The Greyhounds (12-7) have now won 8 in a row after beginning the year 4-7.  

Wilmington took their first two meetings with the Lady Mustangs this season – 8-5 on April 2 and 13-10 on April 25. 

Mercer, who had won their last 3 games, close out their season at 8-12.
