WATCH: Indians celebrate Carlos Santana becoming U.S. citizen

Cleveland Indians' Hanley Ramirez and Carlos Santana

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) – Carlos Santana and Hanley Ramirez, both born in the Dominican Republic, became U.S. citizens this week.

Santana took his oath of citizenship with his family and friends today in a Cleveland federal court. Ramirez was sworn in last week.

Indian’s shortstop Francisco Lindor posted this video of the team’s locker room celebration.

Carlos Santana born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and has played 10 years in major league baseball, 9 with the Cleveland Indians.

Hanley Ramirez born in Samana, Dominican Republic and has played 15 years in major league baseball. This is his 1st season with the Indians.
