NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Four pitchers combined to register a no-hitter for Springfield in their 8-1 win over Jackson-Milton this evening. Shane Eynon began the game by pitching the first 3 innings and striking out 4. Nick Slike threw the next two and struck out 4. Chris Thompson and Clayton Nezbeth each took the 6th and the 7th respectively to complete the no-hit bid. The Tigers struck out 10 and walked 8. Mitch Seymour led the offense with 3 hits. Thompson and Nezbeth each had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs. Thompon finished with a pair of doubles.
Jackson-Milton’s Aaron Landis scored on a throwing error after he reached base on a walk.
Springfield (17-2) will travel to North Jackson to face the Jays tomorrow at 5 pm.
