Shields does it all; McDonald walks off against Jackson-Milton

Logan Shields provided seven innings of pitching and the walk-off single (scoring Andrew Cupan) to give McDonald a 2-1 victory over Jackson-Milton.

Shields struck out 13 batters, allowing four hits and no earned runs. Anthony Tamburro finished with two of the Blue Devils’ six hits.

Nicholas Rich threw six 1/3 innings for Jackson-Milton. He struck out six and permitted six hits.

Offensively, sophomore Mason Robison led the Jays in hitting by going 2 for 2 with a walk. James Harris scored the Blue Jays’ lone run and finished 1-2 with a free pass.

The two schools are set to meet Thursday in North Jackson at 5 p.m.
