GROVE CITY, Pa. (WKBN) – A Jacob Stucchio field goal as time expired gave Grove City a 17-14 victory over the Sharon Tigers Friday night.

Sharon came into the game not only 3-0, but having not surrendered a single point on defense through three games.

The game was 0-0 at the half, extending the scoreless streak for the Sharon defense to 14 quarters to open the season.

Joey Hathaway officially ended the streak with a short touchdown run to give Grove City the first lead of the game, 7-0, in the third quarter.

Mister Ham answered for Sharon with a touchdown of his own early in the fourth quarter, but the extra point attempt failed.

Hunter Hohman found Nathan Greer for a touchdown to give Grove City an eight point lead with just under seven minutes remaining in the game.

Isaac Friday’s short touchdown run, followed by a subsequent two-point conversion, tied the game at 14-14 with just over two minutes to go in the game before the Eagles’ game-winning field goal attempt in the final moment.s

Sharon (3-1) will host Wilmington next week. Grove City (2-2) will visit Slippery Rock.
