Seymour leads Springfield to 21 wins and a #1 seed

NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Springfield Baseball Team is coming off its biggest victory of the season.

It was a walk-off win over South Range in ten innings last Saturday.

It was also the first time they’ve beaten the Raiders in four years.

The Tigers have won 21 games this season, and will start tournament play this week, as a #1 seed.

Leading the way, is Mitchell Seymour. The sophomore slugger is hitting .465 this season… and has accounted for 29 runs.

“I mean it’s a great victory,” said Seymour. “We know a lot of people from there and they’re one of our biggest so it’s a great stepping stone. I mean it’s a big boost but we got to keep our heads small. We can’t start thinking we’re the best and we just have to take every game one at a time.”
