Reserve tops McDonald for 2nd straight day


BERLIN CENTER, Ohio (WKBN) – Cody Wise and Caleb Quinn combine to toss a 2-hitter while allowing 1 earned run in Western Reserve’s 7-4 win over McDonald at home. Wise started the game and pitched the first 5 innings – striking out 8. Quinn closed the game out by pitching the final 2 innings and compiling 4 strikeouts himself.  Dan Windham had 3 hits and drove in 3 runs. Seth Phillips and Jordan Powell each tallied a pair of bae hits. Quinn scored 3 runs. 

Tanner Matig and Zach Nolf (double) each had the team’s lone hits. Riley Lewis and Matig both scored twice atop the Blue Devil lineup. McDonald will return home on Monday with a rivalry game against Mineral Ridge. 

Western Reserve (8-4) – who snapped their 3-game losing streak last night – will play at East Palestine tomorrow.
