PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (WKBN) -The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a three-year contract extension with wide receiver Diontae Johnson.
The new deal is reportedly worth up to $39.5 million, with $27 million guaranteed.
“I felt it in my gut it was the right move for me and my family,” said Johnson in a release from the team. “I am just glad to get back to work. I love being a Steeler. I love it here. Just being around my teammates, the atmosphere, the energy they show every day. I feel like I made the right choice to continue to be here for a long time.”
Johnson will now become a free agent following the 2024 season.
Last season, the 26-year-old caught 107 passes for 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns.
He was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Toledo.
