Howland registers 6 runs in 2nd to race by Crestview

COLUMBIANA, Ohio (WKBN) – Howland registered a 6-run second inning en route to a 9-4 win over Crestview. Ian Merkel, Gage Tomko, Luca Massucci, Josh McCleery and Angelo Fronzaglio all had two hits apiece. Fronzaglio had a double and Merkel drove in a pair of runs. Braden Gebhardt tossed the first 6 innings as he didn’t allow an earned run on 5 hits while striking out 3. Garrett Deemer closed the game out by pitching the final inning. 

Isaac Ricketts, Crestview’s leadoff hitter, scored twice and had a pair of hits including a double. James Fitzgerald scored twice also. Tyler Hurd drove in 3 runs. Tomorrow, the Rebels will play host to Newton Falls. On Monday, Crestview topped the Tigers – 2-1.

Howland will play at Mooney tomorrow.
