Helped by 5-run 3rd; McDonald downs Badger


(KINSMAN, Ohio WKBN) Five-run 3rd inning keys McDonald past the home standing Badger Braves, 8-3. The Blue Devils’ lead off hitter Tanner Matig finished with a stat line of 4 singles in at bats. Anthony Tamburro went 2 for 3, including a double, with 3 RBIs. Ty Tamburro scored twice and also drove in a pair of runs.

Logan Shields registered the win by pitching the first 4 innings for McDonald, allowing 4 hits and striking out a quartet of Braves. Zach Nolf relieved Shields in the 5th frame as he allowed one hit and struck out 4 over the course of the final three innings. 

Badger’s sophomore Timothy Steh finished with 2 of the team’s 5 hits. He also hadan RBI. Brad Blaney, Logan Lendak and Curtis Houser each had a single on the day.

The two schools are scheduled to meet tomorrow in McDonald at 5 pm.
