CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Canfield quarterback Broc Lowry had four total touchdowns (two rushing, two passing) Friday night in a 31-7 victory over rival Poland in the ‘Battle of 224’.
Dom Marzano and Gavin Ramun each contributed receiving touchdowns in the win.
Canfield jumped out to a 7-0 lead with Lowry’s 47-yard touchdown run with 3:22 left in the first quarter.
Lowry then put another seven points on the board, this time through the air, with a seven-yard touchdown pass to Marzano.
Lowry’s second rushing touchdown of the first half came with 40 seconds left, extending the lead to 21-0.
Poland came out firing right out of the gate in the second half by trying and converting on an onside kick opportunity to steal the first possession of the second half. They wasted no time at all capitalizing on the turnover with Dominic Pagano connecting with Luke Fulton for a 40-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the second half.
Lowry’s fourth touchdown of the game, and second passing touchdown, was an 18-yard throw to Ramun with 8:34 left in the third quarter to quickly extend the lead back to three scores, 28-7.
Canfield had won five straight head-to-head meetings against Poland. That includes the 2021 season opener, which saw the Cardinals come away with a 24-12 victory.
