Fitch girls use 3rd quarter surge to edge Howland; Hunter nets 26 for Falcons


The Austintown Fitch girls basketball team defeated Howland, 62-56 Wednesday in an AAC Red Division battle at Austintown Fitch High School. 

The Falcons led 18-16 at halftime, but scored 24 points in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead, before icing it away in the final frame. 

Senior Sabria Hunter led Fitch with a game-high 26 points, while Daria Williams scored 17 and Mia Jackson added 13 points. 

Howland was led by Kayla Clark and Maria Dellimuti with 14 points apiece. 

With the win, Fitch improves to 7-3 overall, while Howland drops to 7-5.
