The South Range boys basketball team is known to pull big upsets, and they did it again Tuesday.
The Raiders went on the road and defeated #10 LaBrae, 54-52 in a back-and-forth game at LaBrae High School.
Ironically, almost two years to the night, South Range defeated #1 McDonald back on January, 17, 2017.
The Raiders used a third quarter surge to gain a 41-35 advantage heading to the fourth quarter. Despite a rally from LaBrae in the final minutes, South Range held on with aggressive play in the press break.
South Range’s Chris Brooks led the charge with 19 points, while Nick Matos added 10 points.
Tyler Stephens led all scorers with 23 points, while Connor Meyer added 15 points for the Vikings.
LaBrae (11-2) drops just their second game of the season, as South Range improves to 11-4 with the victory.
