BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Boardman baseball team has won three in row and starting to build some momentum toward tournament play.
The Spartans are coming off 15-6 victory over Crestview at Eastwood Field last Saturday, thanks in large part to senior Cam Kreps. and junior Connor Miller. Kreps knocked in 3 runs and went 2-4 at the plate.
“The last 10 to 15 games here, I really hit my stride at the plate,” said Kreps. “I just go up there and try to have fun, thats the type of kid I am just having fun. As a team we’re going to try to hit our stride here and make a deep run in the playoffs.”
Meanwhile, Miller had 3 hits and 3 RBI’s. Both are hitting around .400 this season, helping Boardman to an 8-8-1 record this season.
“I was really struggling beginning part of the year,” said Miller. “But four or five games ago I think I had a 3 for 3 at Lakeside Ashtabula and everything just turned around from there.” I fixed my swing up a little in the cage, been working hard in there. We’re getting ready for the tournament and I’m hoping to hit my stride along with the rest of the team here.”
