YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown State wants its upcoming freshmen class to get a “Jump Start” on their education.
Students can enroll for up to two summer classes at a reduced rate. The cost for one three-credit course will be a flat fee of $500. Out-of-state students will still see a non-resident charge.
YSU Communications Director Ron Cole said Jump Start is designed to help students get acclimated to campus and increase academic success.
“That will help them throughout their freshman year, going into their sophomore year and with that we are going to see some retention,” Cole said.
The Ohio Board of Regents still needs to approve YSU’s fees for the program.
