YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – You can now watch baseball on Youngstown’s west side and take in some beautiful artwork in the process.
On Friday, the Rocky Ridge Neighbors and Museum Without Walls unveiled their new art project at the Mill Creek Junior Baseball League’s park.
Eight reproductions of sports artwork from the Butler Institute of American Art have been installed throughout the baseball campus. The murals were paid for through funding from the Raymond John Wean Foundation and maple syrup sales.
“It is great to see children and young adults being exposed to art in a kind of unusual place. These are pieces that came from the Butler Art Sports Gallery,” said Jack Carlton, of Museum Without Walls.
The goal of the project is to not only beautify the park, but to also invite people to back to the Butler.
