WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Two Warren G. Harding High School teachers are off the job after one resigned amid allegations of having sex with a student, and another is facing drug charges.
Although she has not been charged with a crime, Amanda Basile told police detectives she met an 18-year -old student in Austintown and had sex with him. The investigation regarding Basile has been turned over to Austintown police. since the incident is alleged to have happened there.
“Once we became aware of allegations we investigated the allegations. We took swift action to make sure and to keep in mind the safety and security and well-being of our students was our highest priority and in doing that, we took the appropriate action,” Warren Schools Superintendent Steve Chiaro said.
Meanwhile, Tracy Gogel, who teaches family consumer science at Harding, is on home assignment while the investigation into a drug charge she faces out of Summit County is complete.
