YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Tracey Winbush became the new coordinator of Mahoning County’s Trump for President campaign at noon Thursday and by 4:00 p.m., she was already being publicly vetted.

Winbush replaced Kathy Miller, who resigned after making racially sensitive statements to a British reporter, as coordinator of the local campaign.

Now people are calling Winbush out for retweets on her Twitter account against Donald Trump and a YouTube video where she admits she spent months “bashing the crap out of Trump.”

The cell phone video of Winbush was posted on YouTube under the channel “OhioCapitalBlog” on April 29, 2016.

“The ticket is already set and we can’t go back to the primary and erase it,” she said in the video.

It’s clearly Winbush speaking about Trump.

“But there are those of you in here that are supporting a man who, at the top of the ticket, who has denigrated the Republican Party like I’ve never seen before,” Winbush continued. “Clarence Mingo and I were offended as African-Americans by some of the comments and some of the tactics that that man has taken.”

Winbush is also being criticized for some retweets on her Twitter account, including articles and headlines from the Huffington Post and the Washington Post.

Winbush addressed the tweets in an email, saying:

I do talk radio. The comments were not mine, but it was retweeted because of the article.

The Trump campaign released a statement attributed to Winbush:

I’m proud to take a leadership role in Mr. Trump’s campaign. Although I supported another candidate in the primary, I am 100 percent behind Mr. Trump. Hillary Clinton would represent a third Obama term and I look forward to electing Mr. Trump and doing my part to Make America Great Again.

After her anti-Trump tweets started circulating, Winbush deleted all of her previous tweets and posted that she was starting anew.

But there’s still the past, highlighted by comments she made in the online video:

“For those of you who know, I have a radio show and I have bashed the crap out of Trump for the past five months, six months, nine months, and my listeners are going to kill me if I come on and say anything positive about him. But we have to understand, I have to eat crow and so do the rest of us.”

WKBN 27 First News reached out to Winbush over the phone for comment about the video, but she has not called back.
