YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A young girl suffered a sprained ankle after a decorative rock wall collapsed Tuesday afternoon in Fellows Riverside Gardens at Mill Creek Park.
A family was taking pictures and several children were leaning on the decoration, which is about two feet tall, according to a police report. The photographer told police that a child might have been climbing on the wall before it collapsed.
The girl was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Two other children had minor injuries.
Mill Creek Park is investigating the incident. Park spokesperson Lori Shandor says the administration is taking it very seriously.
She says there are signs posted, warning people not to go into flower beds or climb decorations.Editor’s note: This story has been corrected to show that the incident occurred on Tuesday.
