NEW VERNON TWP., Pa. (WKBN) – Pennsylvania State Police expect a road to be closed for several hours to clean up after a semi trailer containing propane tanks caught fire.
The truck caught fire around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 79 south at exit 130 in New Vernon Township.
The New Vernon Fire Department, along with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania State Police, closed the right lane of I-79 south and exit 130 southbound to fight the fire and prevent tanks from exploding.
Police expect the road will be closed for several hours while the truck is towed away.
No injuries were reported.
