CENTER TWP., Pa. (WKBN) – A retired Pennsylvania priest is has been charged with crimes regarding the sexual abuse of his relative, who was a minor at the time.

According to court records, Perry Malacaman is charged with indecent sexual intercourse with a person less than 18 years of age or above, and indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age.

Malacaman is charged with sexually abusing his male relative 10 years ago, beginning when the victim was 9 years old, according to police.

The victim claims the abuse happened for five years, while he was between the ages of nine and 14. Malacaman would have been between the ages of 74 and 79 at that time.

Malacaman lives in Center Township, in Butler County. He is a retired priest of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Parish, according to PSP reports.

Malacaman is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
