State police have reportedly taken one man into custody after an hours-long chase in Beaver County overnight.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Authorities are seeking a motive for the death of a woman who was shot while driving in Philadelphia, causing her vehicle to crash into the steps of a home.

Authorities say 22-year-old Acacia Nykira Byrd was shot in the head around 11 p.m. Sunday. She lost control of the vehicle as she tried to make a turn and hit the steps of the home.

Byrd apparently was alone in the vehicle. No one on the street or in the home was injured.

Authorities say the shooter fled the scene on foot and remained at large Tuesday.

Byrd was the mother of two young children, including a 6-month-old.
