New health insurance rates under the Affordable Care Act have been approved for Pennsylvania next year.
For the individual market, there will be a statewide insurance rate decrease of about 2.3 percent. Small group rates, however, will see an increase of 2.6 percent.
Those buying insurance will see more options next year.
“So, 30 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties will have more choices of insurance companies on the exchange for consumers this year. So, i’m really excited about that as well,” said Jessica Altman, state insurance commissioner.
Pennsylvania’s uninsured rate is at an all-time low, at 5.5 percent.
