DEMPSEYTOWN, Pa. (WKBN) – The National Weather Service confirms that a tornado touched down in Venango County, Pennsylvania over the weekend.
The brief EF0 tornado was documented along Bowman Road to Baker Road in the Dempseytown area. The maximum wind speed was 75 to 80 miles per hour, and the length of the path was 1.3 miles, according to the National Weather Service.
The only damage reported was to tree limbs and tree trunks before the storm crossed Route 417.
The National Weather Service also reported a brief, weak tornado along Pioneer Road and Shreve Road, which snapped branches from trees.
The National Weather Service plans to assess damage from Sunday afternoon west of Dover, Ohio to determine if that damage was caused by a tornado or thunderstorm.
