BUTLER, Pa. (AP) – The former chief operating officer of a western Pennsylvania hospital system and her ex-detective husband are accused of an embezzlement scheme that funded vacations, paid for concert tickets and underwrote operation of a 72-acre motocross racetrack.
Federal prosecutors said Friday Stephanie and Scott Roskovski of Butler were indicted for fraud and embezzlement from Butler Memorial Hospital.
The indictment alleges a key part of the scheme was fraudulent use of Stephanie Roskovski’s corporate credit card.
Stephanie Roskovski was terminated as chief operating officer in 2017.
Scott Roskovski, a veteran investigator for the Butler County district attorney’s office, was fired last year.
They’re accused of conducting a $1.3 million fraud that began in 2011.
Calls to lawyers who represented them in court on Friday weren’t immediately returned.
