Police: OSU football player shot in the face on Ohio State campus


Police said the 22-year-old was shot in the cheeks

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Senior defensive lineman Haskell Garrett, 22, was shot in the face near the Ohio State campus early Sunday morning.

The Columbus Division of Police says officers found a trail of blood and a shell casing near the 400 block of Chittenden Avenue around 12:28 a.m.

Police said the trail led officers to East 11th Avenue, where they found Garrett.

Police said he was shot in the cheeks. Medics took him to the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. As of Monday morning, he is in stable condition.

No one has been arrested.
