COLUMBUS (WCHM) — The Ohio State University Board of Trustees will discuss the Dr. Richard Strauss investigation during a meeting Thursday.
According to the OSU Board of Trustees Audit and Compliance Committee meeting schedule, members will be discussing the Strauss investigation update, during a 10 a.m. meeting, Thursday.
Strauss was a professor and physician at Ohio State from 1978 to 1998 who killed himself in California in 2005 at age 67. Ohio State announced earlier this year that it would be investigating Strauss for claims that he abused wrestlers and other athletes at the school during his tenure.
Lawyers representing 10 former OSU students have filed a federal lawsuit against The Ohio State University alleging sexual abuse by Strauss.
Lawyer Scott Smith said some of these individuals were sexually abused while receiving care as a student-athlete at OSU on the track, tennis, soccer, basketball, and wrestling teams.
