Nearly 100 Timken Steel employees out of work

CANTON, Ohio (WJW) – Timken Steel plans to idle the Harrison Steel plant in Canton indefinitely.

That means 99 employees will lose their jobs.

The layoffs will begin in April.

The eliminated positions are in various departments.

The information comes from a Timken Steel notice to the Ohio Department of Jobs and Families.

Ohio unemployment data is released on Thursdays.
