NOBLE CO., Ohio (WCMH) — First responders are on the scene of a gas line explosion on Smithberger Road in Noble County, Ohio Monday afternoon.

The fire department, United Ambulance and sheriff’s deputies are all on the scene.

According to the Daily Jeffersonian, at least one person was injured and two homes are believed to have been destroyed.

A woman who lives seven miles from the scene of the explosion told the paper her house shook.

“Our house shook so bad, things came off the walls,” Trina Moore said. “Pictures came off the wall and it shook for about 15 seconds but it felt like forever. All of the neighbors ran outside.”

Drivers are asked to avoid the area of SR 724 (Pump Station Road and Smithberger Road, up to Bean Ridge and Smithberger Road).
