ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio (WKBN) – A portion of Interstate I-90 that was closed earlier Thursday following a crash has reopened.
According to ODOT, Interstate 90 east and westbound between State Route 11 and State Route 7 in Ashtabula County reopened at 1:30 p.m. after being closed for several hours.
“It will still take a lot of time to get all the stopped traffic moving again, so please continue to avoid the area,” ODOT officials said.
The crash happened just before 9 a.m. Thursday.
The Ashtabula County Sheriff has declared a level 3 snow emergency for all areas north of I-90, which means that some roads are closed to non-emergency travel due to extremely hazardous conditions.
“We want everyone to stay safe on the roads,” Sheriff William Niemi said.
In addition, the Ashtabula County Courthouse is closed.
