(WKBN) - With President Donald Trump's State of the Union Address before Congress in limbo because of the partial government shutdown, Congressman Tim Ryan is still making plans for when it finally does take place.
Thursday afternoon, Ryan announced that UAW Local 1112 President Dave Green will be his guest at the State of the Union Address.
Ryan is praising Green's efforts to try and save the jobs of GM Lordstown workers.
"He’s been working around-the-clock to support GM workers and advocate for a new product at the facility. Dave will be representing the hundreds of laid-off GM Lordstown workers who deserve to be seen and heard,” Ryan said.
"I look forward to attending the State of the Union and representing the values of our hard-working men and women," Green said.
Ryan also backs delaying President Trump's address until the government is reopened.
