(WKBN) – A bill that prohibits mandatory overtime for nurses as a condition of their employment passed on Wednesday in the Ohio House.

State Rep. Don Manning of New Middletown introduced the legislation earlier this year.

According to the Ohio Nurses Association, fatigue with nurses can affect the care for patients.

The nurses overtime bill now heads to the Senate.
