COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – An airline went under, leaving a central Ohio family is trapped in Iceland.

WOW Air announced that it is now out of business. Picture after picture captures unforgettable moments on Scott Ellsworth’s family vacation to Iceland.

“We decided we wanted to come up here and see the blue lagoon, wildlife, nature and just see a different country do something different for our kids’ spring break,” said Ellsworth.

Ellsworth said the fun came to an abrupt end when his family found out some news they never expected.

“We are kind of stranded in Iceland. The airline company we used decided to go belly up, I guess, and cancel all their flights,” said Ellsworth.

The airlines made the announcement on its website. The family is in a rush to make back to Cleveland to continue a family tradition.

“Just trying to figure out how I’m going to get my kid to the home opener on Monday. We are just trying to stay positive and I’ll get back. We got a 12-year run to keep Intact. That’s my goal as a dad,” said Ellsworth.

For regular price tickets, it’s going to cost Ellsworth $1,400 a person. He has a family of four.
