WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) students used their day off for a day of hard work.
Monday marked Martin Luther King, Jr. Day — a day when community service is often promoted.
About 15 NEOMED students celebrated the holiday by painting doors, trim and closets in two houses on Plaza Avenue in Warren. The projects were part of volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity.
“It’s an opportunity for them to give back to the community and to recognize the work Martin Luther King, Jr. did,” said. Construction Manager Michael Ondrey.
Ondrey said the home should be finished by February.
