Starbucks French Press recall

(WFLA) – Starbucks is recalling more than 250,000 coffee presses due to a laceration hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The Seattle-based coffee chain has issued a voluntary recall of its Bodum Recycled Coffee Presses, which were sold online and in stores from Nov. 2016 through Jan. 2019

The move comes after the company received nine reports of the plunger’s knob breaking during use, resulting in puncture wounds and cuts.

The $20 press has a glass beaker, dark gray frame, and light gray handle and knob. The SKU number 011063549 is printed on a white label on the bottom of the base.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coffee presses and contact Starbucks toll-free at 888-843-0245 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for instructions on how to return the coffee press to receive a full refund in the form of store credit. Returns will not be accepted in stores.
