Gas prices up for Labor Day holiday weekend

Drivers should be ready to pay more at the pump as the holiday weekend wraps up — at least compared to last year.

The national average gas price is $2.84 — 25 cents more than one year ago today.

Ohio’s average on Labor Day is $2.74, also up from last year, while Pennsylvania’s average comes in at $3.05 — 26 cents more in 2017.

According to GasBuddy.com, some the lowest gas price in Mahoning County on Monday morning was $2.60 at Sam’s Club in Boardman.

It was $2.61 at the BP in Lisbon in Columbiana County. 

In Trumbull County, the cheapest price Monday morning was $2.57 at Murphy USA in Cortland.

In Mercer County, nothing was below $3.05. That’s was at the BP gas station in New Castle.
