Chelsea Manning released from jail for refusing to testify before grand jury

National and World

(CNN Newsource) – Former Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning is out of a Virginia jail.

Manning spent 62 days behind bars because she refused to testify before a federal grand jury.

Her lawyer said she was asked to testify about her disclosures to Wikileaks.

Manning previously served seven years for giving thousands of classified government documents to Wikileaks.

Despite her Thursday release, Manning’s legal struggle isn’t over. She has been subpoenaed again and is required to appear in court once more on May 16.

If she refuses to testify for a second time, she could be found in contempt again.
