YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Health experts say staying healthy is a way to live a long life.
The County Health Rankings program has ranked how healthy all the counties are in Ohio.
When many people think about health, the first thing that comes to mind is medical care. The County Health Rankings said good health includes how well the education and housing is in the area, as well as the access to good food and jobs.
Experts with the program say the rankings impact the counties’ efforts to improve health.
“We’ve seen counties and communities across the country use the rankings to spark a commitment to health,” said Michelle Larkin, vice president of Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. “We know that these problems are not going to be solved overnight, but this is about bringing people together and taking action, and solving these problems to so that every community no matter where they rank can have better health.”
Trumbull county is ranked 65 out of the 88 counties in Ohio, while Mahoning County is ranked 75.
