YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A group of students and faculty want to see a women’s center at Youngstown State. They’ve started an online petition, trying to make that happen.

The group is asking students, employees and alumni to sign the petition.

People could go to the women’s center for help, especially after gender-based harassment or attacks.

The group also wants to see health and wellness programs targeted to women.

“YSU doesn’t have a center for women and gender. It’s one of two universities in Ohio that doesn’t have one, and I felt the duty to try and provide this resource,” Professor Michael Jerryson said.

The petition has nearly 800 signatures so far. You can sign it here.
