YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A new partnership between YSU, the City of Youngstown and the city school district wants to help parents in the district become better disciplinarians.
The Parents Forum Youngstown program is designed to improve discipline in the school district.
It does this by targeting parents, offering them training and other support.
The idea is that it will lead to fewer discipline problems in the classroom.
“Youngstown State is always, whenever it can, tries to go out into the community and provide support in whatever way we can,” said Patrick O’Leary, with YSU. “We’re very happy to partner with Youngstown City Schools and the City of Youngstown for this program.”
The new program will work in conjunction with existing parent support programs in the school district.
