YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Youngstown police have released new details about a crash in Youngstown on Monday.

According to police, the driver of the SUV that crashed had been shot. Police said the driver was shot somewhere else and was driving himself to the hospital when he went off the road and hit a pole on Oak Hill Avenue near Joseph Street.

The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance. It’s unclear where the driver was shot, but police say he is expected to be OK.

The road was closed for some time but has since reopened.
