YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Part of South Avenue was closed temporarily between Cameron Rd. and Pasadena Rd. while Youngstown Police investigated a shooting at Miss Daisy’s Hall at 2210 South Ave.

According to YPD, the shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to a release, three people were shot, two females, ages 20 and 33 and one male age 24, inside the business.

All three victims were taken to Mercy hospital. One person did require surgery. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

“We’re recovering evidence and trying to take any kind of statements here at the scene that can help us with the investigation,” said Chief of Detectives Captain Rod Foley.

No information has been released about a possible suspect or if there was more than one shooter.

The scene was cleared shortly before 7 a.m.

So far 71 people have been shot in Youngstown this year with 16 fatalities. This is the fifth shooting First News has reported on that occurred at a bar or club this year, three of which were on South Ave.

This is the tenth time two or more people have been shot in the same incident this year.

At this time last year, there were 48 shootings in Youngstown.

During 2020, 98 people were shot in total with 28 homicide victims.
