YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – One man is dead in a shooting early Monday morning on Youngstown’s East Side.

The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Alexis Rivera Ramos, 40.

According to police, the call of shots fired on Bruce Street near Himrod Avenue came in shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Police at the scene say a man was dead upon arrival and had at least one gunshot wound.

Later Monday afternoon, officers, along with the Ohio Department of Agriculture, returned to the home on Bruce Street to remove three alligators and a turtle from the home.

This is the 10th homicide in Youngstown this year and the second in three days. Last year, there were 19 homicides in Youngstown.

An autopsy will be conducted, and the incident remains under investigation.
