Local News

The City of Youngstown released a press release for the deadly Parkcliffe Avenue fire.

They say they’re asking for donations for the mother, America Negron Acevedo, or “Amy.”

911 call: “Please help my babies”

The Youngstown’s 6th Ward City Councilwoman Anita Davis says a community effort is being made.

The release says the Mahoning Valley Sojourn to the past will collect donations and Flambeau’s Live will host a fundraiser dinner on Dec. 18 at 4 p.m. at 2308 Market St. in Youngstown.

CEO Krish Mohip pledged his full support to unify the community.

“Tragedies of any nature, whether it’s local or abroad impacts us just hearing the report. But certainly when we realize these are our neighbors it becomes even all the more real,” said Pastor Lewis Macklin.

“Sometimes you have to acknowledge that there are things that go on in the world that are not God’s will and this is one of them,” said Pastor David Kamphius.

Donations can be made online at the Mahoning Valley Sojourn to the Past Facebook page.
