YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Greater Youngstown Italian Festival is moving forward with plans for an event this year.
The festival board still needs approval and guidance from the state and city health departments, however, it is planning for a summer event.
Organizers say to expect many handwashing stations, and masks will likely be required.
“It is a fairly large festival. We are about the second-largest event in the tri-county area, next to the Canfield Fair, and we are going to follow the lead of the Canfield Fair,” said John Rossetti, with the Greater Youngstown Italian Festival.
The Italian Fest is scheduled for Aug. 6-8 in downtown Youngstown, which is three and a half weeks before the Canfield Fair.
Last year, the Italian Fest was canceled due to the pandemic. The Canfield Fair held only the Junior Fair.
