Allen Amorn Youngstown arrest

A Youngstown cardiologist is no longer caring for patients at Mercy Health following alleged threats he made to family members.

A Mercy Health spokesman confirms that Dr. Allen Amorn is not employed by Mercy Health. Letters were sent to his patients indicating that they will be transitioned to a new physician.

Amorn was arrested at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where investigators said he pulled a knife on hospital police.

Police had been called there to pick Amorn up after reports that he threatened to kill his wife and kids on December 27.

Amorn faces aggravated menacing, resisting arrest and domestic violence charges.
