BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A big paving project is getting started Monday in Boardman.
Crews are now milling down the old asphalt on South Avenue between Western Reserve Road and Presidential Drive.
This is actually one of three projects set to take place along South Avenue over the next several months, each repaving different sections of the road all the way from Western Reserve to Midlothian Boulevard.
“I think it’s gonna work out a lot better because we’re gonna kinda ease the burden in one time. This way, you know, doing construction on a road this major’s certainly gonna cause an inconvenience. But if we can get out of here in one season, it’s gonna be a lot better than stretching it over two,” said Mahoning County engineer Pat Ginnetti.
The cost for the combined projects will be around $4.5 million.
All of the work should be finished in October.
