Fifty years after they left high school, the Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1968 is giving back.
Eight classmates visited the new Wilson Elementary School Thursday morning and brought a $4,000 check with them.
Their former school was torn down in 2008, but a new building was put in its place.
They say the memories are still there, so they decided to buy books so each classroom could have its own mini library.
“I was a cheerleader at Wilson and high school was a great time, special time. Lots of memories. Have tried to keep in touch with as many classmates as we could,” said alumna Beth Egan.
Organizers sent letters to all of their classmates encouraging them to donate.
